Two Canopy Pilot Carbon Capture Units delivered to Canada

Following the successful deliveries of Carbon Capture pilot units to European customers, KANFA has recently delivered other new Canopy Pilots to two different Canadian customers:  Heidelberg Materials and Teck Resources Limited.

KANFA, as part of the world-leading engineering and technology player Technip Energies (T.EN), is using its competence in modular and compact process engineering design to develop and deploy to the market new carbon capture solutions supporting the energy transition. The two carbon capture pilot units are part of Canopy by T.EN™ suite of modular post-combustion carbon capture solutions powered by the Shell CANSOLV® CO2 Capture System.

The Canopy Pilots will allow capture of up to 1.5 kilotons of CO2 per annum each, from the immense cement plant of Heidelberg Materials in Edmonton, Canada, and Teck’s Trail Operations, one of the world’s largest fully integrated zinc and lead smelting and refining complexes in Trail, Canada. Through pilot units, T.EN will demonstrate the reliability of its technology and the efficiency of its CCUS solutions in new industries, empowering customers to capture carbon with confidence.

“We are proud to have completed both Carbon Capture Pilots within the Clients’ tight schedule. This achievement demonstrates our capability to perform fast-track EPF modularized projects while keeping high-quality standards. Our agile approach, alongside the dedication of our team and partners, remains unwavering as we continue to deliver compact modular solutions to assist our clients in achieving their decarbonization objectives.”

Knut Bredahl, Managing Director of Operations in KANFA

“We are pleased to deliver those two Canopy pilots. This demonstrates Technip Energies’ ability to support our customers through their Decarbonisation journey by capturing carbon with confidence. We strongly believe our new Canopy by T.EN offering will pave the way for more sustainable operations across different industries worldwide.”
