KANFA have successfully completed the Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) of Heat Recovery Steam Generation (HRSG) modules for Golar LNG’s Fuji FLNG facility.
This marks KANFA’s second HRSG module delivery to Black & Veatch and Golar LNG, following the successful delivery and operation of HRSG modules for Golar Gimi FLNG, which have been in operation since 2025.
The two 1000+ tonne modules each serve two BH LM2500+G4 gas turbines in a 1-to-1 configuration, extracting heat from turbine exhaust gas to generate superheated steam for power generation, significantly increasing overall onboard power efficiency.
The Challenge
As the first of its kind, staying within the design envelope established during the conceptual phase was an inherent challenge. Being a Long Lead Package with numerous interfaces towards surrounding systems introduced many design challenges enabling the engineering team to freeze all physical and operational interfaces towards the FLNG vessel.
Our Solution and Approach
KANFA’s Integrated Global Execution Model
We employed our proven execution model, coordinating engineering, procurement and construction across multiple international locations:
- Overall project management, engineering oversight, and equipment procurement was managed by KANFA AS in Norway
- Detail engineering was performed through integrated collaboration with our Technip Energies colleagues in Bangkok, working seamlessly within KANFA’s project organisation
- Bulk procurement, fabrication, and testing to Mechanical Completion was performed by PV Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam, with supervision by KANFA’s Construction’s follow-up team
Modular Delivery Approach
KANFA’s modular engineering philosophy enabled the delivery of two fully integrated 1000+ tonne modules as complete, single-lift units. This approach minimises on-site assembly time and risk, allowing for efficient integration at the destination yard.
Results and Outcomes
Successful Delivery and Integration
The two HRSG modules were successfully loaded onto the transport vessel at PV Shipyard in Vung Tau, Vietnam during the third week of January 2026. The modules are destined for CIMC yard in Yantai, China, where they will be integrated onto Golar LNG’s Fuji FLNG facility before deployment offshore Argentina.
Ongoing Partnership and Support
KANFA will continue to support the client, providing expertise during pre-commissioning and offshore commissioning phases to ensure successful operational start-up.
Track Record of Repeat Business
This second successful HRSG module delivery to Black & Veatch and Golar LNG demonstrates the trust built through our previous Golar Gimi FLNG project, reinforcing KANFA’s position as a reliable partner for complex power generation solutions in the FLNG sector.
Our proven global execution model and modular delivery approach enabled successful delivery of complex, large-scale HRSG modules for demanding offshore applications. Our ability to coordinate engineering, procurement and construction across multiple international locations, combined with ongoing commissioning support, positions KANFA as a trusted long-term partner for FLNG power generation solutions.
