Celebrating 25 Years of KANFA 

This year KANFA turns 25, and while it’s time to celebrate, we’re also using this milestone as a chance to reflect on what we’ve built. 

KANFA was founded in 2001 as an independent EPC contractor of process solutions for the floating production market. From the start the business was designed with a focus on agility and efficiency, and those values remain core foundations of our philosophy and our success. 

Delivering over ten topsides across the following decade, KANFA has grown project by project, discipline by discipline. And this model has taken us around the globe, with our work spanning the Americas, Africa, Southeast Asia and our home country of Norway.  

In 2021 we became a wholly owned subsidiary of Technip Energies, a change that gave us access to industry-leading technology and a bigger platform. Since then we designed and delivered Carbon Centric’s carbon capture facility in Rakkestad, Norway, the world’s first full-scale post-combustion carbon capture plant at a waste-to-energy facility. Designed to capture 10,000 tonnes of CO₂ per year at a recovery rate above 95% and we’re hugely proud of our part in this pioneering work. 

Despite our pioneering spirit, we have always stayed true to our core and continue to operate in the FPSO re-deployment and conversion market where we have been from our very inception. 

In 2023 we completed a complex brownfield offshore project, the Karish M10 Integration engineering and EPC project, a project that significantly enhanced the liquid production capacity of the Energean Power FPSO. Whilst not only being delivered on schedule and within budget, this type of brownfield project is truly where KANFA thrive and excel. Utilising extensive expertise and deep understanding of FPSO design and operations, whilst leveraging an agile approach to manage complexity and solve intricate challenges.  

We’ve worked across oil & gas, and decarbonisation, but our approach to working with clients has always focused on agility and trust. Our team of in-house engineers work alongside carefully chosen partners to deliver projects at any scale. And we work hands-on with our clients and partners because we strongly believe that collaborative, transparent relationships lead to the best results.
